Questions, Answered Straight

Short answers. Where the answer is “not yet”, it says so.

Is It Really Free?

Yes. There are no paid tiers, no locked features and no ads, and your data is never sold. Limits exist only to stop abuse.

Why Do I Have to Sign In?

Signing in is how your tallies reach your other devices. After a device is enrolled, the app can open your vault on it without asking the server to read anything.

Can the People Who Run It Read My Tallies?

No. Names, values, notes, emoji, folder names and the themes you make are encrypted on your device with keys the server never holds. They can see that an account has tallies and how often they change.

What Do You Know About Me, Then?

Your account email address, how you signed in, random identifiers used to route your encrypted data, and, only if you turn them on, usage counts with no account attached. The service also keeps a daily number of sign-ups and sign-ins, with no account attached. The privacy page has the full list.

Does the App Track What I Do?

Not unless you ask it to. Product analytics are off until you turn them on in Settings, and even then they are a short fixed list of counts with no account, no device and no tally content attached. The one thing counted whatever you choose is the number of sign-ups and sign-ins the service had in a day, with no account attached.

What If I Lose My Recovery Key?

If you still have an enrolled device, you can replace your recovery key in Settings. The new key takes the place of the old one, which then no longer restores your vault on a new device. If you lose every device and every recovery key, the vault cannot be opened by anyone.

What Does Protected Mean?

A protected tally or folder is hidden on your device until you unlock again with your passphrase or passkey, and it closes after five minutes. It keeps an item off the screen. It is encrypted the same way as the rest of your vault, not more strongly.

Does It Work Offline?

After you have signed in, enrolled a device and opened the app once online, yes. Changes you make offline wait on the device and sync when you are back online.

How Fast Is Sync?

Usually a moment. A background tab, battery saving, or a poor connection can delay it, and the app will catch up when it can.

Can I Share a Tally With a Friend?

Not yet. Sharing with trusted friends is planned. There are no public links or public tally pages, and none are planned.

Is There a Phone App?

Not yet. iPhone, Android and Apple Watch apps are planned. The web app works in a phone browser today.

Can I Get My Data Out?

Yes. Export writes a summary or every entry as CSV, a JSON file other tools can read, or one encrypted backup locked with a passphrase you choose. The CSV and JSON files are plain: once written they are no longer protected by your vault, and the app says so first.

Can I Remove a Device?

Yes. Settings lists your enrolled devices and lets you revoke one. A revoked device stops syncing; what it already downloaded stays on it.

Has the Security Been Independently Reviewed?

Not yet. The security page says what is used and what has not been checked.

How Do I Report a Bug or a Security Problem?

Use the contact form and pick the topic that fits.
